Tech and Your Horse: What Can It Do?

coaching competition confidence equitation Jun 01, 2025

You don't need all the tech.

Sometimes a phone on a tripod is enough. You can film a ride, watch something back or share it with your coach.

Add tracking technology and your camera can follow you around the arena. Remote coaching can bring your coach into a schooling session when you are miles apart.

Technology can be useful when you've finished riding too.

Inside the Dressage School arenas, you can leave yourself a voice note while a ride is still fresh in your mind, take another look at your test, explore patterns in your scores or use video to compare how something looked with how it felt.

Filming and coaching

There are plenty of ways to film without needing an elaborate setup.

A phone and tripod can work brilliantly. Pivo and Pixem both offer automatic tracking, giving you the freedom to film without needing someone behind the camera.

I am a Pivo Accredited Coach, so you can connect with me through the Pivo Arena App, or send me a link to your video for coaching and feedback.

The useful question isn't really which technology should I have? It is:

What would I like it to help me do?

Take it with you

The Equestrian Heroes App puts the Online Equestrian Centre on your phone, so Dressage School Online and the things you want to come back to can travel with you.

You can pop into Dressage School Online between rides, listen to something over a cup of tea, use one of the digital tools or simply see what's happening around the centre.

Technology doesn't have to make riding more complicated. Sometimes its best job is simply making something easier to reach, remember, see or share.

Come in and take a look around.
