More Than a Website: Why I Created an Online Equestrian Centre

I have spent more than 30 years coaching riders, and much of that learning happens in the arena.

But riding life happens around those lessons too.

We think about our horses when we're making a cup of tea, driving home from the yard, looking at a test sheet or remembering something that happened when we rode. We make plans, ask questions, change our minds and look forward to what we might try next.

I wanted to create somewhere for those moments too.

That became the Online Equestrian Centre.

A centre with places to visit

Just as you might walk around an equestrian centre and find different things happening, the Online Equestrian Centre has places with their own purpose.

Inside Dressage School Online, you can visit the arenas, put the kettle on and listen to something in the Dressage Café, leave a post-ride voice note or look again at a test sheet.

Achieve Dressage gives you somewhere to recognise your progress, understand what made a difference and follow your dressage pathway over time.

Inside Heroes Riding Club, riders can share life with horses, join conversations and find things to read and watch between rides.

There are also exercises, articles, resources and programmes to come back to as your experiences with your horse develop.

Why make it an equestrian centre?

When I thought about what I value most about coaching and learning in person, it came down to more than the arena or the lesson: the environment, the connection between people, the relationship and rapport we develop with our horses, and the conversations that happen as we work together.

A good learning environment can be professional, supportive, useful and enjoyable.

It can help you ride at your best, care for your horse well and enjoy being competitive. You can prepare for the things you want to achieve, work towards clear process and performance goals, enjoy the preparation and adapt when something changes along the way.

Learn, prepare, enjoy the process and keep developing with your horse before you ride, after you ride and between rides.
