Which Reincoat is Right for You? A Coach’s Guide

coaching wellbeing Sep 26, 2025

As riders, we don’t get to choose the weather  but we can choose how we prepare for it. Coaching outdoors means I’ve tested plenty of waterproofs, and I’ve found that Reincoat consistently delivers comfort, practicality, and performance. With four core coats in their collection: Air, Lite, Pro, and Original,  there’s a Reincoat to suit every season and riding style. Here’s my take.

Reincoat Air Cool & Waterproof Short Jacket

Best for: Schooling, summer showers, and active riders

  • Lightweight and breathable, ideal when you’re moving between schooling and stable jobs.

  • Short cut makes it practical for riding without excess fabric.

  • Fully waterproof with freedom of movement.
Coach’s note: I reach for the Air on milder days when I want protection from sudden showers but still need to stay cool and flexible in the saddle.

Reincoat Lite Cool & Ultra-Waterproof (17k)

Best for: Everyday riding, hacking, and unpredictable weather

  • Ultra-waterproof protection without the bulk.

  • Breathable design keeps you comfortable on longer rides.

  • Tailored cut with equestrian-specific details.
Coach’s note: The Lite is my go-to for lessons and hacks when the forecast is uncertain. It’s the balance between being prepared for rain and not overheating when the sun comes out.

Reincoat Pro  Warm & Ultra-Waterproof (17k)

Best for: Winter coaching, competitions, and long days outdoors

  • High-level waterproofing and warmth.

  • Adjustable details — cuffs, leg straps, and two-way zip — designed for riders.

  • Durable enough to stand up to hours in the arena.
Coach’s note: The Pro is the coat I rely on when I know the rain is set in for the day. It keeps me dry, warm, and professional so I can focus fully on my riders.

Reincoat Original Warm & Waterproof (15k)

Best for: Classic reliability and everyday wear

  • Tried-and-tested waterproof protection.

  • Warm, comfortable, and practical for both coaching and riding.

  • A versatile choice for riders who want one coat to cover most conditions.
Coach’s note: The Original is the classic that made so many riders fall in love with Reincoat. If you want one dependable coat that works across most seasons, this is it.

    Final Thoughts: Choosing Your Reincoat

    Each Reincoat has its strengths:

    • Air for summer schooling and staying cool.

    • Lite for everyday riding and changeable weather.

    • Pro for serious winter waterproofing.

    • Original for classic, all-round reliability.

No matter which you choose, what sets Reincoat apart is the way their coats are designed for riders. They move with you, keep you dry without bulk, and let you focus on your horse instead of the weather.
