What Relaxation Really Looks Like
Jul 20, 2025
Relaxation is a state of openness and readiness, where your horse is emotionally supple, physically balanced, and willing to communicate.
You’ll feel it in their rhythm, their breathing, and the way they move with calm energy without bracing or resistance. The back is swinging, the aids are accepted, and there’s a sense of confidence in each stride.
As riders, we often try to correct tension but what if we learned to notice what creates balance before tension arises? What if we could feel the moments when our horse is available, connected, and engaged before we lose that sense?
It starts by listening and feeling.
This week inside Rider Know How, we’re exploring what relaxation really means and how to ride in a way that fosters connection, confidence, and emotional balance. It’s about clarity, consistency, and the influence you bring through your seat, your intention, and your presence.
Whether you’re working with a young horse, an anxious horse, or simply seeking more flow and lightness in your everyday schooling, this lesson is for you.
Join us inside Rider Know How to explore energy, influence, and emotional balance, your horse will thank you for it.
