An Exclusive Opportunity for an Experienced Competition Horse
I have one place for a horse to join me and my quest for a British Dressage Championship campaign.
I am able to offer excellent facilities, professional care and one to one attention. I am missing Salvation and riding and I am ready to welcome my next horse to the family.
My focus is on flatwork and hacking, building a relationship with a new horse before returning to British Dressage competitions.
I can offer an experienced and capable home where a horse can continue to thrive and be well loved. This opportunity may suit an owner with a horse who is ready for a change of direction. Perhaps an event horse or dressage horse ready to start a new chapter.
Salvation helped me rehab from a serious injury. He was kind and genuine, content to look after me and help me return to the dressage competition arena. My next horse will need to be of a similar disposition, content to learn a slightly new aiding system - neurological damage to my left leg means sometimes my left leg aid is more of a thought or a voice aid.
I also rediscovered hacking with Salvation and the freedom this gave us to enjoy each other's company. I prefer a horse who looks and thinks about something spooky rather than a horse who reacts first and spins for home.
Whilst I have good balance I really don't want the stress of waking up every morning wondering if riding will be about distracting my horse from all things that move. I also don't want to fall off if I can help it!
Forward and jolly is fine, but I would prefer a horse who is open to relaxing and easily pacified with conversation or mints.
I am based at Danesmoor Eventing, a private yard near Banbury with excellent facilities, including a lovely indoor arena, extensive hacking and gallops. Salvation happily lived out though of course stabling with turnout is possible. Individual needs can be discussed and supported. For me, this choice is about offering the best possible care to a horse who will be cherished.
Owners are welcome to remain involved and attend competitions if they wish. I am happy to provide regular updates, photographs and videos, and can arrange contact to suit individual preferences.
The type of horse I'm searching for would be between 7 and 16 years old, 16.1hh to 17.2hh with three correct paces, an understanding of lateral work and a good work ethic, a genuine horse who enjoys a one-to-one partnership.
My goal is to compete in British Dressage competitions and return to my personal goal to compete at the British Dressage Nationals. I have competed successfully through to Advanced Medium and hold The British Horse Society Stable Managers Certificate and Senior Coach qualifications.
I am happy to discuss my riding career, competition history and can supply references. I am open to discussing different arrangements and would be delighted to hear from owners who feel their horse may suit this opportunity.
All enquiries will be treated in confidence.
