Coaching That Starts With the Horse

I’ve coached hundreds of riders over the years, but no two sessions are ever the same. That’s because no two partnerships are the same—and I believe coaching should reflect that.

My approach recognises that progress begins when we put the horse first.

That means meeting both rider and horse where they are.
Not rushing. Not overriding. Not comparing.
Just observing, listening, and supporting a way forward that fits that unique moment in time.

Every Ride Tells a Story

Sometimes, it’s about confidence.
Sometimes, it’s about clarity.
Sometimes, it’s about learning to be fully present—with your horse, your breath, your aids, and your awareness of what’s actually happening beneath you.

I love helping riders notice those moments. When something shifts. When a new understanding lands. When they look up and smile—not because it was perfect, but because they felt it.

I Coach as a Curious Rider Too

Everything I do as a coach is shaped by my own time in the saddle. I’ve ridden through breakthroughs, setbacks, confidence dips, and all the moments in between.

I know what it’s like to want more from your riding, to feel stuck, to seek support—and to find that progress often comes in small, meaningful steps.

That’s why I coach with curiosity. I meet riders where they are.
And I help them find their own flow, confidence, and connection.

Coaching Is a Shared Journey

Progress might lead to better scores, bigger goals, or braver steps in the arena.
But for me, real success is witnessing a rider find their self-belief, clarity, and feel as they grow their partnership with their horse.

It happens in the quiet conversation between horse and rider—when something clicks.
It shows up in the shift from uncertainty to trust, from hesitation to harmony.
And it’s a privilege to see that unfold—to be present for those moments when everything starts to come together.

Those are the moments I never take for granted.
